Ancient cemetery in the town of Komarno, archive research

Brief report on the results of study of the available materials following the research work in search for information about ancient Jewish cemetery and other buildings of the Jewish community in the town of Komarno.

Brief report on the results of study of the available materials following the research work conducted at the Central State Historical Archive of Ukraine in Lviv in search for information about ancient Jewish cemetery and other buildings of the Jewish community in the town of Komarno (location).

Included are reports on the work carried out in the archive’s catalog, searches to order, work with cadaster maps of Komarno of the period 1854-1928, registers of the landowners of the 19thcentury and on the searches therein to locate objects of Jewish cultural heritage in Komarno, copying and official certification of these files

After the study of the archive records there have been found cadaster maps of different periods - from the second half of the 19th and to the first half of the 20th century. Total - 4 (with indicated objects of Jewish cultural heritage).

- Parcels of the Jewish cemetery and other areas of the Jewish community of the town;

Available is the brief description of the algorithm of processing the archive records, comparative analysis of the existing objects.

Copies are attached to all of the above cartographic materials with the prepared graphic marking of the cemeteries territory (regardless of their presence in the maps in the original form).

All these materials were prepared by: Andriy Fylypiv, historian of F. S. Petryakova Scientific Center of Judaica and Jewish Art, Representation of the American Union of Councils for the Jews in the former Soviet Union.
