Participants highlighted the importance of preserving the diverse
Jewish-Ukrainian cultural heritage that has been acquired over the years of an extensive common history.

It was stated during the meeting that Ukraine is an extremely
important country for many Jews now living in the US. Ukraine is home to thousands of sacred Jewish sites. It is also a birthplace and a resting place for many prominent Jewish thinkers, writers, scholars and other great minds highly regarded for their spiritual and religious insights.

Jewish cultural heritage makes up an important part of the Ukrainian one. In fact, both Jewish and Ukrainian cultures experienced recent troubled history in similar ways.

Members of the American Jewish community expressed deep gratitude to the President of Ukraine and the Government for their kind support of the meeting.
